Game Night Central is Moving!

On June 1st, the Cape May County Library will be uploading its brand new web site! The URL won't change, but with it comes several new additions that make it WAY better than the current one we've got. But what does this mean to you, our loyal gamers? It means you get a brand new website, too, devoted ENTIRELY to Game Night stuff!

Here's the new URL: CLICK HERE!

The new site will feature more updated game-related news articles, reviews, tips and tricks, and generally anything pertaining to gaming that we feel like putting up! We'll still have our schedule and tournament notifications on the site, but expect it to have a newer, sleeker look... We hope you enjoy it as much as we will, and thanks for continuing to make Game Night the awesome program that it is!

Guitar Hero: World Tour Tournament!

Sorry for the late notice, folks, but there's a Guitar Hero: World Tour tournament coming up on May 16, 2009, from 12:00 - 4:00! This is our very first Guitar Hero: World Tour tournament, but it won't be identical to the Rock Band tournaments we usually hold...

Since songs don't exist on the same kind of tier arrangement that Rock Band uses, we're going to award points on the following aspects of your performance...

- Up to 100 points per band member will be awarded based on your percentage of notes hit, equaling a grand total of 400.
- Up to 15 points per band member will be awarded based on stage presence, equaling a grand total of 60.
- Up to 5 points per band member will be awarded based on difficulty level. 1 point for Beginner, 2 points for Easy, 3 points for Medium, 4 points for Hard, and 5 points for Expert, equaling a grand total of 20.
- Up to 20 points total will be awarded based on the point total of all players at the end of the song. 5 points will be awarded for every 100,000 points earned by the end of the song, up to a value of 20 points total.

Keep in mind, too, that if any of your bandmates fails out of a song, the entire band fails! Unless it's caused by technical difficulties, there will be no second chances to try a song when the tournament begins, so make sure you don't pick a difficulty that's too high!

No registration is necessary, but you need a band of four people to compete. Depending on the number of bands that show up, every group will be able to pick 2-3 songs (no retries), and their top score will be compared to every other band's scores! There's no prize for this tournament, but it's going to be fun, anyway. Come prove your worth as a rocker, and may the best band win!
